Marry Chrsitmas

We have finally finished our Christmas decorations! We did the inside on the day after Thanksgiving and today Colin did the lights on the house. It is so odd to have Christmas up this early. Since I was little my family has made a large effort to not put up Christmas stuff until after my birthday. My mom has always held that it was very important that my day was something separate from the holidays. I am very grateful to her for making my day special. However, I could not wait to decorate! And as you know, as you get older birthdays kind of become less important. More than making my day free of Christmas, I want Braylon to experience this holiday for as long as possible. He is loving it too! Every evening he goes around the house with me turning on the lights and the tree. He says 'ooohh' and gets close to inspect the lights! So stinkin cute!

Now for the first year in my life I have a fake tree. I love real trees but Braylon has made me re-think getting a real one. I have this gut feeling that he will pull the tree down at some point and a fake one will be so much easier to put back up. Plus it is light and will not hurt him if it by chance fell on him. Second, I do not want to deal with watering a tree or picking up the needles that will get every where. I know they would be in his mouth. We also got plastic ornaments. This way I am not worried about him taking them off and them breaking. He can play with the tree all he wants. He loves taking off the ornaments!
Oh and I am not a huge fan of trees that are color themed. I love the unique ornaments that have been collected over time. However, I only have four of those. Three are all about babies first Christmas.

We have our stocking hung. Now Santa just has to figure out what to place in these bad boys. Eventually, I am doing to cross stitch one for each of us. That is a tradition form my family that I will continue. However, I can not find them in stores so I am going to have to order some online. And I have been a little lazy to say the least in that department.
And finally the outside lights! I think they look so pretty. We have a smallish tree out front that I am going to get another strand for to decorate that too!
I love this time of year!

Oh and I cannot wait until December 26th so I can buy clearance Christmas decorations for the inside and outside of the house. I already have a list going of what I want!
