Today we had his doctor appointment. And guess what only two shots! Yay! I hate when he has to get shots but when he is getting poked five and six times it is just way too much. However, one of those shots was his second flu shot. This shot has me worried. When he got the first one a month ago he got very fussy and a little sick. I hate a fussy kid. Life becomes difficult and it is never good that he does not feel well. I am hopping that he has an tiny immunity from the first dose that keeps him from getting too fussy with the second one. Overall, his doctor appointment went very well! He showed his amazing personality to his doctor and she could not get over him. She says he is doing perfect development wise. I love hearing this. I typically do not worry about his development. I know that every kid is different and that he will do things on his own. That being said I do have this fear in the back of my mind that Braylon will be autistic. Autism runs high in boys. And I am very close with someone whose little boy is autistic. I think being so close to it that I worry and look for signs of it in Braylon. I know that I cannot prevent it. But early intervention can mean an entire world of difference! Anyway, Braylon is doing fine.
Braylons daycare provider asked us to get somethings singed by his doctor. First, they wanted a shot record. They also wanted a hearing, vision and developmental screening. The hearing and vision are not really possible at his age. But his developmental one is good. We also had to get a note saying that Braylon does not tolerate whole milk and for him to get soy. So while the doctor was filling it out we started talking about daycare. She asked how I was doing and I said that I am getting to the okay stage. She then told me that putting him in daycare is a great thing for him. He is going to blossom socially, his language is going to explode and he is going to learn so much. She than said that she is home one day a week with her daughter and often her three year old asks to go to school with her friends. Even though I already know that Braylon is going to do all those things, it makes it better to hear it from another mom. Not only is she a mom but she is a medical professional. My thinking goes: she would never do anything that would stunt or harm her daughter. bring in the medical field, a pediatrician, she knows even more about what is needed for her daughter to thrive and grow. Therefore if her daughter is in daycare and if she can get through long days without her, then so can I.
Okay, so that last little bit was about me. Sorry. Back to Braylon.
What is he up to?
- He is now 24 pounds and 2 ounces and 31.5 inches long.
- He is basically wearing 18month clothes. His belly is too big for the waist of 12month and his head is too big for the shirts.
- He is RUNNING everywhere
- He is CLIMBING everywhere
- Still accident prone and has a new bruise probably every other day
- He loves to talk and he talks with his hands, its super cute
- Still wearing size 3 diapers, though after this box we are going to move up to 4's
- He is a busy body and is into EVERYTHING (luckily we have the house set up so he can get into any draw and shelf and there is nothing harmful. I think it is important for him to explore and to not hear 'no' every two seconds.)
- He is now finally napping on his own. Not in his crib but he is taking naps that are typically three hours! I love this!
- He is just like mommy and daddy and he loves to eat! He loves meat and sweets too.
- He is getting two molars.
