Progress

Progress that is in the adventure in solids. Braylon has been attempting solids for only about three weeks. I say attempting because I have made a major fail. I have slacked with feeding him them because it is easier to breastfeed him. Breastfeeding does not require major clean up. Braylon is a messy eater like him mom. After a I eat something, no matter how big or small it is, I am ALWAYS wearing something! When I was little I would always have some in my hair or all over my face or in both. I never wear white because of how dirty it would be within seconds of putting it on. And I mean seconds. So needless to say Braylon usually wears more food than what makes it in his mouth. His hands also make things more difficult. The have taken up a permanent residence in his mouth. I swear they are going to turn all pruney (I know this is not a word) because of how much they are all (and I mean he tries to get all 10 fingers) in his mouth. It has been difficult to feed him and very messy!

So I have been trying to feed him more solids. I do not want him to fall behind or something (good ol' mommy guilt). Something tonight just clicked. I stripped him down to feed him pears and he actually open his and leaned  toward the spoon. He ate an entire 2.5 ounce jar! I am still in shock. He has never eaten more than an ounce. And that takes about 20mins to accomplish. Tonight it took about 15mins for him to eat the jar.  It was odd because yesterday I feed him a little while we were eating lunch and he still had his thrust reflex and tonight it was like it was almost all gone. Way more was eaten then what ended up on his face. That is never the case. He is usually wear 90 percent of what has been fed to him. This progress has made me excited to feed him some more tomorrow!

Today was a fun day in other ways too. Me and Braylon went to the zoo with my friend Carmen and her daughter Scarlett. It was a lot of fun. Scarlett is almost two and she said 'quack' at almost every animal. It was too cute. She was also saying peacock when ever we passed by one. Let me just tell you it sounded nothing like peacock but it made us laugh. I am looking forward to the time when Braylon knows the animals and gets excited to see them all.
