Happy Memoral Day

Today is a day to remember and thank all of the service men and women who have sacrificed their lives for us. They gave their life in order for us to enjoy the freedom we have. Today we are BBQing like most people I know are. On our menu: ribs, country potatoes, strawberry/bell pepper and vinegarette salad and watermelon. It should be very tasty. Colin is in charge of the ribs and I am making the potatoes. He is trying out this new dry rub and slow cooking of the ribs. I am sure they will turn out fantastic. The rest of the day is just relaxing and enjoying the beautiful weather. It is mid-70s, sunny and breezy. Prefect!

As you saw Braylon has started to clap. It is beyond cute! He does it all the time. If I say 'yay Braylon' then the clapping by him begins. I love it! He is also getting into EVERYTHING! So yesterday we made a trip to Babies R Us to pick up a baby gate. He HATES the gate. The apartment is very small it is only to keep him out the kitchen but that has become his favorite room. He loves to play with the pans and skillets. He removes them all and then bangs on them.

Sometimes when I need to get dinner made I will sit him in the kitchen with the cookware basket and let him go wild. He loves it and I get dinner made. A win-win for both of us. So I got the gate and put it up. Well, in about ten mins he has the gate down and was clapping and smiling at his good work. Every time it goes up he finds a way to bring it back down. I am starting to realize that I have a very independent minded child on my hands and I think I may have my work cut out for me. I am looking forward to seeing his personality develop.

I hope everyone enjoys their day off and takes the time to remember what was sacrificed.
