Graduation

Tonight, Colin had his graduation from paramedic school. Colin has not been feeling well the past few days and was not sure he was going to attend. I am glad that I was able to talk him into attending and celebrating his achievement. This is a big deal and his dad even came out all the way from Flagstaff to see him graduate.

Last March Colin enrolled in the UNM Paramedic Academy and was part of their very first accelerated class. Typically, paramedic school takes anywhere from 12 to 18 months. However, this program last for only 6 months of class time and a 3 month internship. It was very fast paced and required Colin to put in a lot of work. Luckily, Braylon was not due until class was over and right before the internship. However, he came a month early which was before the final and in the middle of clinicals. Colin had class when Braylon was 3 days old and he had to do a 12hr clinical in the ER when he was four days old. Even with a new baby Colin was able to pass of all his test and physical scenarios. He did a great job. Now it is on to finding a job (he wants to be with the fire department he did his internship with, Rio Rancho), which should be easy for Colin. He is very good at impressing people and has excellent personal skills.

Oh and of course Braylon was the hit of the graduation. Every thought he was so cute (which of course I agree with!).

Here are some pictures of the evening.
