The Dragon and the Turtle is a great children's book. It is a story about friendship and helping one another out. Padraig the Dragon finds Roger the turtle wondering and decides to help him find his way back home. While on their journey the two friends discuss all of the things they enjoy like fishing and gardening. When they finally find Rogers house, Rogers mom has made chocolate snap cookies.
After the story the book contains a page of questions to ask your child and even a recipe to bake the chocolate snap cookies. My son enjoyed having me read to this to him. I love that it helps parents begin to ask children questions about what was just read. Its a great way to develop reading comprehension skills early on. I think we are going to make the cookies tonight.
