Adventures in solids

Today, we decided to start Braylon on solid foods. i had been waiting until Braylon showed better hand control, sitting up and lost the tongue reflex. I noticed the other day that the tongue reflex was gone when I was giving he a little bit of Tylenol of his teething pain. Since he was displaying better hand control and was trying to sit up on his own, I felt like the time was right. I found this website called Wholesome Baby Food that has tons of advice on which foods to start with and how to prepare them. Now I never thought before children that I would be the type that would make my own baby food, but atlas I am. I do not like the idea of all the chemicals and processing in his food. Plus making stuff is very easy and cheap. While at the store today we got a few bibs, spoons and some fruits to try. We decided to start with apples and will do them for four day before moving on to the next item. He gets them for a few days in a row to see if he has a reaction to them. Overall, he did great and he actually ate quite a bit of them. There was not a huge mess either. I think he was ready and we will continue to give him a little bit of food everyday.
Going into the Oven

Pealing them
All pureed
