Liam Scott

Last night I became an aunt again. My sister gave birth to a beautiful, healthy baby boy that she named Liam Scott. She was induced Monday evening and after 26 hours of labor she was ready to push at 7pm last night. After an hour and a half of pushing and no progress she was taken in for a c-section. Liam did not like contractions and his heart rate would decrease on every one of them. Alyx was tired and Liam was not being a happy baby so the doctor decided on a c-section. This was what Alyx did NOT want. I told her that while it is what most women do not want, it gets her the end that she wants: a healthy and safe baby. Around 840 she was taken to the OR and at 856pm he was brought into the world. I was with he for all but five hours of her labor. I went home at 2am on Tuesday to get a few hours of sleep and to help my little boy sleep. I was back at the hospital by 6am with Starbucks in hand. I came back home again around 1230pm and went back at 200. Because it is RSV (a respiratory disease) season no one under 14 is allowed on the floors, Braylon was not allowed to be in the room. On Monday night Sabrina and Jordan stayed with him. The Tuesday he came to the hospital and hung out with the family members down in the cafeteria for over 8 hours! Today he came and my mom walked around the hospital with him and then I took him over to a hockey friends house. He was such a good boy. I cannot tell you how many time I got the complement of what a great little boy he is, how happy he is, how easy going he is, what a great sleeper. I mean the complements go on and on and on! It makes me feel so proud that my little boy is such a trooper. He has done better than I have ever expected! I could not ask for a better or more behaved little boy. Now this is not to say that he does not have his moments where he frustrates me. But overall he is just so good!

Seeing Liam makes me want another baby! I miss the newborn stage (I know most think I am CRAZY!). I will have another but I want to enjoy this little one. So it will not be ANY time in the near future! I will leave you with a picture of Liam Scott... I need to go catch up on some lost sleep over the last 72 hours.
