Doctor Appointment

Yesterday we had Braylon's well baby check up. Luckily he had no shots to get, even though he is a champ at shots. We did have a developmental check and he is above par for most of the areas! Yay. I knew he was progressing just fine, but it is always nice to hear it from a professional. While we were in the doctors office Braylon once again impressed the doctor. She was chatting with us and we kept getting Braylon to say different words. Like a normal toddler he would not perform on command. So we went along with our discussion of what to expect in the next six months. And Braylon walked up to the wall mural, stood on his tip toes and and pointed to a fish and said fishy. Mind you it was a sea mural and there were all sorts of other sea life. He stood on his toes so he could get to the fish. Our doctor was quite impressed and said that he is doing great. As we continued talking he started saying more and more. He has about a 25-30 word vocab and at 18 months it is about 5-10 words that they are looking for. Doctor visit like this make me feel better as a mom. Sometimes I worry that I do not teach him enough or that maybe I should be home with him. However, after the visit I am more confident in my/our parenting abilities and the choice to have him in daycare.

So on to the fun stuff. Braylon is now a whopping 27 pounds 3 ounces! One big boy. However, it is only in the 50th percentile for weight. And he is 30.5 inches long. He grew about an inch and gained about three pounds in three months! I think his new nickname will the be tank!

In other news we have had a busy weekend and it is only Saturday evening. We woke up and me and Braylon went for a run walk, then we went to Target and finally to Gymboree. We left Gymboree a little early to go to a Charity event Colin was doing. Every year the fire departments participate in St. Baldrics for kids with cancer and they shave their heads. So we went over there and hung out and watched Colin and the other Rio Rancho fire fighters get their heads shaved. Then it was off to lunch. After a long morning/afternoon we came home for naps. Then it was Costco and Sam's club, dinner, took a walk and then got frozen yogurt. Can you say busy. I am tried just typing it!

I hope everyone has a great weekend. I am hoping that I sleep like this...
