Update

Braylon and I have some big news to share. First, yesterday I received the e-mail I have been waiting for for over two weeks. On October 27th I took my comprehensive exam for my masters in political science. This was a nine hour test where I had to write three essays on questions sent to me at eight am in the morning (I ended up with over 40 pages written). I started studying in the middle of June and read and wrote every day. Originally I was to take the exam on October 4th because Braylon's due date was October 13th and the exam typically takes place in the last week of October each fall. If Braylon was late then I could have been taking the exam with a few day old. Well, since I was induced a month early I decided to push the exam back. That way I could have some time to focus on Braylon and get into a rhythm with him and I could study a little more. Yesterday afternoon I learned that I had PASSED! I could not be more excited. All I have to do now is to complete my classes and in a month I will have my masters. For most of you who know what my life threw at me in 2009, this is a VERY big deal and I am proud of myself that I did not quit and I achieved this goal. This is also a very big deal too because I am a HORRIBLE writer. If I did not pass it would have been for my writing and not because of my intelligence or knowledge. This pass has given me some confidence in my writing ability. It is finally a big deal still because not even 24 hours after having Braylon I had told my mom that I no longer wanted to go to school and that I could not care less about getting my masters. I am so glad that my family and friends did not let me quit at that point. I did this for me and for Braylon.

In other news Braylon is two months old today! I cannot believe how fast it has gone. I feel like I was just finding out that I was pregnant and now here I am with a two month old. What has Braylon been up to? Well let me fill you in. He is now sleeping through the night for the most past. He wakes up once at around 4 am to eat. We go to bed at 10pm and am up at 8am, so to me that is really good. He is very alert and is obsessed with lights and shadows. I daily find myself wondering what in the world he is starring at. He loves to be held. I mean he is literally always attached to me. He has started to respond very well to my voice and will look around the room until he spots me and then he just stares. He LOVES to have is back patted and he can fall asleep anywhere, in any position, as long as he is touching someone. Want proof?

He also is now smiling a lot more! He has such a big, goofy smile. I am in love with it.
Since he is two months today, I took some pictures of him.

Thursday is Braylon's two month well baby visit. He will be getting round one of his shots. I am not sure how I am going to handle this. I cried when he got them in the hospital. I had to walk out of the room when he got the metabolic heal prick at two weeks (Don't worry Colin was holding him).  I usually have to look away and hold my breath when he gets shots (I act like they are poking me). However, I am looking forward to see how much weight he has gained since two weeks old and how long he is now. I will update you all on how that goes.
