I have been known to have a sweet tooth. But I also try to eat healthy too. With the epidemic of childhood obesity so great, I want to do everything in my power to give Braylon the tools to not end up obeses. I breastfeed him for 17 months. When we are in the kitchen cooking so is he. Every day, every meal we sit and eat with him and the TV is off. Colin and I will talk during meals and it is funny to see Braylon talk too, telling us about his day, even though we do not understand it.
I feel that at 22 months we are building a well rounded eater. He will eat anything it seems. And like his mama he has a love for the sweets too. So I know that we will have to help him keep the unhealthy sweets to a minum and get him loaded up on all of the good stuff. We lucked out in our new house to have a lovely garden already planted and produce ready. We have cherry tomatoes, carrots, green beans, pears, another fruit tree that has yet to produce any fruit so I am unsure what it is. I planted some peppers, zucchini and cucumbers. Braylon loves to help me pick the ready veggies and fruit.

Every time I go out to pick more he is right behind me wanting to help. I love how much he wants to help in general with everything that I do. I just hope in a few years he is still as willing. Being part of growing food and preparing it is essential to us for building Braylon inot a healthy eater. It is also helpful in helping him learn about colors and shapes. I tell him to pick a red circle and place it in the bag. He does it every time. We also tell him the color in spanish too. When he places it in the bag he gets so happy, smiles and says yay. It is super cute. I love how excited he gets over doing this with me.
