Camping, The Final Chapter, at a Hotel

After two days in the wilderness it was time to head to Phoenix. We were sad to be packing up and saying good by but we were also looking forward to a hot shower, real bed and pizza. Due to some driving issues, Ammon and Torey had to split up. Ammon drove with his dad and step mom to their house to get some stuff and Torey and Delu came in our car. For as long as I remember, I have always been the smallest adult. So Delu and his car seat were behind Colin driving, Braylon on the passenger side behind Torey and you guesses it, me in the middle of the two car seats. Luckily, Delu does not have the Cadillac of car seats like Braylon does, so I had a little room. It really was not that bad of a drive. Only four hours and it was not until the last 45 mins or so that my butt and hips started to ache. Because I was in the middle I was in charge of holding the iPad so both boys could watch. It also meant that they stole all my snacks! Braylon took my candy bar, ate all the chocolate off, took my chips and then promptly fell asleep.... Ah the life of a mother...

Once we got to the hotel we took shows and headed to the store. We got snacks and wine and beer! Yum!!! When we got back to the hotel Ammon and Pops were there and we all switched rooms. Finally, we settled in, and Torey and I hit up the FREE happy hour at the hotel. Score! We ordered some pizzas and headed to the pool. While swimming a monsoon came through and it poured. However, we still had a blast. More importantly the boys had a blast! It really was a great night. The night ended with the four adults hanging out and chit chatting. Nights like that makes me wish that we could live close together. Colin would love to be around Ammon. Torey and I have a great time too. And I think the boys would be great friends...

Monday morning we got up ate breakfast and packed up for a very long drive home. It took up ten hours to get back home. However, we only drove for seven hours. We had to spend two at the outlets. We had gone to get Colin and me clothes. Well, we got noting and Braylon walked away with a lot of stuff. Then we drove up to Flagstaff and visited Braylons great great aunt Jessie. I believe she is like 93.

After the visit we fueled up on gas and some great food at Grannies. Seriously some of the best food. Their japleano poppers are amazing! Braylon enjoyed the chicken fingers and fries!

We finally made it home after 9pm. It was a long day, but it was a great family day.

The camping trip was a blast! I was not expecting to have as much fun but it really was. I am looking forward to next year and all the more stuff Braylon will be able to do! We also came to the conclusion from the trip that we are going to go see Ammon, Torey and Delu more!
