Mother's Day Weekend

I have been such a bad blogger! May has been a crazy month and things are just going to get even more crazy. But before I share that news, most likely in a separate post, I will catch you up. Last weekend me and Braylon went to California to visit my family for mothers day. It was the first time in 17 months that me and my younger brother were both in town at the same time. And my mom took full advantage and scheduled family pictures. I am so excited to see them. There should be some pretty funny out takes. It is hard to get two toddlers, a teenager and four adults to cooperate. Amazing the tears were shed my the adults and not the toddlers! Most of the trip was spent relaxing, drinking wine and watching Liam get upset that Braylon was taking all of his toys. They both did not like to share! And Grandma had a blast playing with both of her grandsons. They seemed to keep her pretty busy.

However, the weather was great and it was a perfect Mother's Day trip. Saturday night we were grilling and my younger brother Tyler looks at Carson, the youngest brother, and goes 'crap!' there are three moms here and we have to do everything tomorrow with Braylon and Liam. It was amazing to see the look of terror on Carson's face. We did not make them do everything. I made french toast and bacon for breakfast and I made so amazing apple caramel cheesecake bars.

Alyx made lemon bars on Saturday that were to die for! The lemon was almost a custard and it had a shortbread crust.

Both are highly recommended. Of course we had to go shopping and lets just say I had to go out and buy hangers in order to put all my new clothes away. Alyx and I also cashed in our Mother's day gifts and got pedicures and manicures. Just the relaxation I needed. Grandma had both of the little ones while we were gone. Thinking back we should have stayed out a little longer :)

The end of the trip is where things get bad. Monday night we noticed that Braylon had gunk coming from his eye. We were pretty sure it was pink eye. So my sister pumped some breast milk and we put it in his eye. While it did not cure the infection it did help it keep it at bay for the plane ride on Tuesday morning. Our flight was suppose to leave at 5:55am. Well, the flight did just we were not on it. We got there a little late and the ticket agent would not let us past. So we went back to my moms house and waited for the 12 o'clock flight. We made that one and got home at 7pm. However, Braylon has managed to infect everyone. I have a sore throat and fever, so does Colin. My mom and sister are also sick and Liam is sick and has pink eye. It seems every time we travel to California Braylon ends up sick.

Sickness aside we had a great trip. It seems like we are on the downhill of the sick plague. Lets hope!

Oh and let me just say for the record. I will NEVER fly with Braylon on my lap again. He is just too much of a busy body and mover. I am bruised and my arms are still sore from restraining him!
