Well, here it is.... We are buying our first home! We started the home buying process in late April. Our lease is up in August so we thought it would be perfect timing. The first weekend in May we went out with our realtor and saw three homes. One was a traditional sale and the others were short sales. We fell in love with house number two. Later the next week we put an offer on the house. But due to the nature of short sales and the banks, we knew our offer would not be looked at for awhile, if ever. This house has been in the short sale process for over a year and it seems the bank is not moving quickly. So we went out again yesterday. We looked at four houses, one short sale and three traditional sales. I fell in love with house number two. It is perfect for this little and young family. So functional. The house has only been on the market for 17 days. After seeing the other two houses we went back to the second one. We talked and looked around some more. It really was perfect. And they are including so much. All stainless steal appliances, LG washer and dryer, a lovely back yard and porch, lighting under the kitchen cabinets, four bedrooms, and large bedrooms, three car garage, a work out room in the third garage stall. Perfect! So we made an offer. I was so nervous to sign the offer. I was not nervous to sign the first offer we made but this one made me scared. I think it was because this is a big decision and I was pretty sure that they would accept. So last night we sent the contract over. And at 9:30 this morning we got word that they accepted. The house is OURS! At first I was in shock. It is just now starting to settle in. Now we have to finalize the mortgage and inspections and escrow. But our agent seems to think it will all go smoothly and fast. I hope so!

The inside is nice too. Just the pictures are not the best. I will snap some for you. As of now our closing date is June 19th. We have a few things we want to do to the house before moving in like build a dog run, stain the kitchen cabinets darker and add a master shower door.
Here is to hoping the next part of the home buying process is as easy as the first part was!
